South Lebanon,
33 min

Radical tv that speaks for oneself. This tape includes excerpts of final interviews/testimonials recorded with members of the Lebanese National Resistance Movement (a secular multi-denominational movement) of the late 1970's - 1980's, where speaking to their families, friends, fellow fighters, and the general public, they recount their life in the resistance and their motivations for undertaking their sacrificial operation (i.e. self-sacrificing raid on an Israeli Armed Forces (IDF) tank or Israeli troops in Lebanon). Historically the resistance in Lebanon has been a multifarious phenomenon, taking place on the ground and in the hearts, minds and bodies of people throughout all strata of daily life. Martyrs such as Souhat Bischara, Iptisam Harb, Sana Mihaidly, Bilal Faisse, Lola Aboud and Ahmed Assir have become legendary figures with images of them adorning many homes in the South. This secular resistance continues today (under the umbrella of Hizballah) against the occupation of South Lebanon.
