This short video is a succession of lively (and fictitious!) memories of an old Burmese man staying in Europe at the invitation of a group of anthropologists. He tells of his meeting in Paris with André Breton and his entourage of postwar Surrealists. He testifies to their sincere interest in "the other person" and "the other thing" and to the way Breton was able to go so far as to break down a deep-rooted culinary taboo by devouring a cooked dog. This is followed by an extensive cooking lesson in word and image. This is an ironic questioning of the notion of truth and objectivity in the visual-anthropological tradition and a conscious blurring of the boundaries between documentary and fiction.
