LIVING IN SHIPPING CONTAINERS

Charlie Luxton looks at a recycled city in east London made from old shipping containers that are being converted into new living and working spaces. Shipping containers make for amazing housing. For one thing, used ones are available in droves. They are durable and waterproof, can be stacked, don't need foundation and can be transported and placed almost anywhere. The hip recycled homes in this video are examples of artist studios in east London about to become low-cost housing. Three containers connected together make up for rooms shaped as conventional ones.
